The camera and case etc. are visually in good honest condition for their age and use. Please note, the camera has NOT been tested to see if it is in working order, however all mechanisms seem to click/work as they should.
Launched in 1971 by Asahi Optical Corporation, the Pentax SP 1000 has been described as one of the best kept secrets of the film photography world.The SP 1000 was released as a budget model of the top of the range Spotmatic II. However, the camera is nearly identical to the Spotmatic II, but is lacking a self-timer, and flash shoe.
This camera has stop-down, match-needle exposure metering. To take the reading you simply flip a switch on the left side of the lens mount, which stops down the viewing lens to the aperture you’ve selected and then turns on the metering circuitry.
