This is a spare motor I bought as part of a lot of various items for my Arriflex BL 16mm camera.
Original motor for the 16BL that was originally fitted in the early production models of the Arriflex 16BL.
It has a reversing switch on the side that was accessed via a plastic cover on the motor housing. It was eventually replaced by the EL motors that were not reversible, but had a built in governor control that allowed the motor to be crystal controlled. The very lovely Clive Tobin designed and produced several crystal controllers for Arriflex cameras over a period of time for sound synchronous filming. This motor is not crystal controllable. I will double check it is working, but I am almost certain it runs perfectly.
It is certainly a European spec. motor as I bought it from a German seller.
The motor is in very clean condition with no corrosion or damage to the visible circuitry. There is one tiny bit of damage to one of the plastic brackets that holds the 9 pin connector block on the side of the motor. It was cracked at some stage and a bit of the plastic is missing. However, although one of the screw holes is half chipped away the lower screw is in place and the cracked plastic holds in place. The bracket on the opposite side is undamaged. It still connects to the camera body fine and the connector block is in perfect condition. I have never tried to glue or repair the bracket. See the close-up pictures.
You may be able to use this as a donor motor to repair a broken motor or even use it if you have no 16BL motor. I am selling this as spares as it is slightly damaged and I have never needed to use it.
It’s quite a heavy object so I am going to quote a delivery price of 10 in the UK, more for international due to the weight. I’ll calculate it accurately and I’ll refund any major difference in postage charges. As I have always stated, I like to be fair to any buyer.
