1980s A.E-1 CANON CAMERA + OTHER ASSOCIATED BITS.
Having been invited to tender for a ‘Bungalow Clearance’ sometime towards the end of June of this year and not having heard anything more from the vendors, I simply filed it under ‘pending’ and promptly forgot about it. Three weeks ago I received written instructions from the Solicitors of this seemingly ‘defunct’ source to……’Carry on and comply with the original instructions regarding the clearance at the above address, before the Festive Season would be helpful’…….A ‘please’ might have been nice! However, a telephone call sorted it all out. It appeared that a number of overseas probate problems had arisen, coupled with the more diverse and complex altercations involving a group of disgruntled beneficiaries over a very extensive collection of quite important jewellery and other artefacts……..so what’s new, it happens all the time. However, the clearance, is now completed and has exposed a myriad of items, mostly in good order with some being quite collectable.
From the outset let me say that this Canon camera has all its ‘bells & whistles’ and much more……sadly the battery housing door has occasioned damage (see all photographs). It looks to have been damaged for some time as a temporary repair by the then owner is plainly visible. I am not sure if a replacement door can be purchased or even a repair to this one. Obviously someone will have a solution. Loads of documentation, release cable, spare lens, puffer……the list goes on! It looks to be in good order and should work well……Anyone still use these old dinosaurs?
