This is a Vito B camera made by Voigtlander in Braunschweig, Germany around 1957. It is the second model of the Vito B series and includes a large ‘natural size’ bright frame finder in a high top housing. This example features the top of the range Colour Skopar f/2.8 lens in a Prontor-SVS shutter. The camera is in near mint cosmetic condition and is in good working order – see description. It comes in a rare box celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Voigtlander company.  Cosmetic condition (to be read in conjunction with the photographs)The imitation leather on the body of the camera is in near mint condition with no visible marks through normal wear and tear. The satin chrome finishes are also excellent with no dings or scratches visible. The black painted bands around the camera are near perfect with just one tiny scrape visible. The interior of the camera is in excellent condition. Operational ConditionThe camera is good working order. The Prontor-SVs shutter works well on all settings down to 1/4 sec. It is sticky on the 1/2 sec and 1 sec settings. Timing fees right on the faster settings but will need to be checked if you wish to use this camera. The rapid winder works as it should. The large viewfinder is exceptionally clear. The lens is a Voigtlander Color-Skopar f/2.8 with a focal length of 50mm. The lens has a little dust as would be expected but appears to be free from fungus.  The focus and aperture work perfectly. The back of the camera clips off smoothly on releasing the locking clip and the bottom plate. The camera takes 35mm film. Dimensions are 11.5 x 8 x 7cm and the camera weighs 620g.
The 300th anniversary box is complete and in excellent vintage condition
This camera has not been tested with film. Any camera of this age it would probably benefit from a general mechanical service if you intend to use it. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. I recommend having any lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use the camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty.
