COMPLETE 1953 SCREWMOUNT OUTFIT!

Leica IIIf RED DIAL DELAYED ACTION + 5cm f/3.5 ELMAR

– with FIKUS HOOD, LEITZ LEATHER CASE, RED BOX & LITERATURE

CONDITION1953 Leica IIIf RD DA # 666435, made in Wetzlar. Overall body condition near mint. There is one pinpoint mark on the top plate near the rewind knob, other signs of use on the chrome are very faint. The vulcanite has a repaired area on the front bottom right of the lens (looking at the camera), and a little wear on the mounting points at the sides, one very small 1/8″ piece missing in that area, otherwise the covering is all firm, black and in excellent condition, no looseness/hollow areas.
The wind-on is lovely, very light, as it should be, the body may have had a CLA fairly recently.
All speeds including the slows sound accurate. The delayed action lever is working fine. The viewfinder is clear, the rangefinder is distinct and appears accurate, perhaps with just a trace of haze.
The 1952 5cm f/3.5 ELMAR # 969842 lens cosmetics are in close to the same condition, perhaps just a shade more wear. The focus and iris are working well. There are some light cleaning marks on the front element and just a trace of haze.
The Leitz chrome front cap is in nice condition, and the FIKUS hood is near mint.
The LEITZ LEATHER CASE looks near-new, just a little wear on the strap.
The RED BOX is from a slightly earlier Leica IIIf #633xxx, 1952-53. It has had some light repairs, but it’s pretty worn overall and a bit fragile. Still nice to have for display, though.
There are two INSTRUCTION BOOKS, one in German, and a 1951 6-page Leica IIIf Brochure in English, all in very nice condition.
