This is an Iloca Rapid camera made by Iloca Kamera-Werk in Hamburg, Germany between 1952 and 1956. This was the first of the Iloca Rapid camera models and is sometimes known as the Iloca Rapid A. It features a Steinheil Cassar lens in a Vero shutter. The camera is in good condition and is in full working order. Cosmetic condition (to be read in conjunction with the photographs)The leather on the body of the camera is complete and generally in excellent condition with just a little unevenness under the leather on the front and on the base plate. The satin chrome finishes are excellent with no dings or scratches visible.  The black painted bands around the camera are also excellent, with no paint loss visible. The interior of the camera is in near mint condition. Operational ConditionThe camera is fitted with a Vero shutter which is functional at all speeds. The timing feels right but this will need checking if you intend to use the camera. The diaphragm operates smoothly. The lens is a Steinheil Munchen Cassar f/2.8 with a focal length of 45mm. The lens is clear and appears to be free from fungus. The back of the camera clips off smoothly on releasing the locking catch using the rewind knob. The camera takes 35mm film. Dimensions are 12.5 x 8 x 6.5cm and the camera weighs 500g.

The camera comes in its original Iloca leather case which is complete and in very good vintage condition.

Overall, this is a nice example of this well made German camera – now over 60 years old.

This camera has not been tested with film and as with any camera of this age it would probably benefit from a general mechanical service if you intend to use it. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. I recommend having any lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use the camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty.
