For bid is a Zeiss-Ikon Simplex 511/2 folding bellows medium format viewfinder camera made in Germany between 1935 and 1937. It has a dark brown Bakelite body with polished chrome trim. This is the only Bakelite Zeiss camera and was made during the Art Deco period and is in that style. It is in very good cosmetic condition. This camera has a Nettar-Astigmat f=105mm 1:6.3 lens and a Derval shutter with speeds from 1/25 sec to 1/100 plus B & T and apertures from 32 to 6.3. There is an adjustable focus from 2m to infinity. The shutter appears to work on all speeds and apertures although I can not attest to its accuracy and it has not been tested with film. There is a pop-up frame viewfinder and a swiveling viewfinder and 2 tripod sockets. This camera took 120 roll film and took eight 6x9cm pictures. The camera opens and closely easily and the black folding bellows appears to be in very good condition with no obvious tears or holes. Also included is the original distinctive brown leather case which is intact and in very good condition. PLEASE NOTE: I am not a camera collector and certainly not a camera expert. I have tried to describe this item to the best of my ability. Before bidding please read the entire description and look at ALL the photos. Since I have no way to test the camera it is being sold as is, as a vintage collectable without any guarantee.
