This is a Box Tengor 54/2 box camera produced by Zeiss Ikon in Dresden, Germany between first introduced in 1926 after the merger of several German camera manufacturers. This is the later 54/2 model produced between 1934 and 1938. This camera has one or two cosmetic defects but is generally in good condition and is in full working order.  Cosmetic condition (to be read in conjunction with the photos)The black leather covering on the body of the camera is in very good condition with just a few areas of missing leather on the corners of the camera and a few shiny marks on the back of the casing – see photos. The black painted frame around the front of the camera and all the black painted controls have some paint loss due to wear and tear and some corrosion.  The interior of the camera is in good condition. The carry strap is present but has been taped to hold it together. Operational conditionThe camera appears to be in good working order. The simple rotary shutter fires as it should and the diaphragm adjusts correctly between the three settings. The unusual shutter lock works as it should. The lens is a Goerz Frontar f/11. It appears to be clean and free from fungus. Both waist level viewfinders are operational and give a clear image but would also benefit from a clean. The camera took 120 film in a 6×9 format. Dimensions are 11 x 8 x 11cm and the camera weighs 540g. Overall, this is a very nice little camera in good vintage condition, cosmetically and mechanically
This camera has not been tested with film and as with any camera of this age it would probably benefit from a general mechanical service if you intend to use it. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. I recommend having any lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use the camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty.  Please note that during the current crisis all my parcels will be sent by courier through eBay Packlink.
