If you’re an uncompromising collector of antique technology, make sure to check out all my listings after you look at this one. I don’t think you’ll find a better, broader or more balanced assortment of technical antiques anywhere — hundreds of no-reserve auctions each year, almost all of them featuring eye-popping “gee whiz” gadgetry in exceptional original condition. And don’t forget, you can click this link to quickly add and then save me to your favorite seller list and Ebay will automatically send you updates when I put similar new auctions online. Here’s a beautifully made rigid-bed wet plate camera dating to the mid-1870s. The camera was manufactured by Joshua Billcliff in Manchester, England and is signed on the camera bed and both of the repeating backs. The smaller back measures 16 x 5 (excluding the mount) and takes 6 cartes de visite, each measuring approximately 1 1/2 by 1 3/4. The larger back measures 16 x 6 and takes 4 cartes de visite measuring 2 1/4 x 1 3/4.Condition is good, and the camera is original throughout, including the red leather bellows, the wood finish, and the lens and the leather lens cover. Both backs are original, as well, including their ground glass focusing plates.  Camera body, camera bellows and repeating backs exhibit normal artifacts of age and use, but no signs of abuse or neglect.  No missing hardware, and the brass clips on the backs are still functional. When you’ve finished checking out my ebay listings this week, take a look at my TechnoGallerie website, where you can buy hard-to-find antique phonographs, antique radios, antique cameras and other antique gadgets you’re not likely to see anywhere else.  New arrivals include an exceptionally nice, all-original 1910 Edison Opera cylinder phonograph (oak) with its original oak horn and a mint condition 1923 Grebe RORN Tuned Radio Amplifier with a complete set of early coils.
